It was done live. She was in real life smart as a whip, very ambitious, very hard working. Hollywood loved her.

I love Janet Gaynor since I saw her in television in a movie "Delicious" in 1977, she is sweet, beautiful and a great actress!

I really like this song--has the sound of a 30s Disney Princess song. I think Gaynor was singing this live rather than looping it afterwards, considering how her voice echoes at the beginning and drops out when she walks behind a pillar. And what a set!!! It must have been a wonder to see it on the sound stage.
