Under a contract awarded in September 2006, Boeing is developing a version of the SDB I which replaces the steel casing with a lightweight composite casing and the warhead with a focused blast explosive such as Dense Inert Metal Explosive (DIME). This will significantly reduce the possibility of collateral damage when using the weapon for pin-point strikes in urban areas.

  • @the911538: Pretty sure India has fresh water....don't know where Arica is but the last time I was in AFRICA, they had fresh water as well. Don't know what water has to do with weapons testing but if you are emplying we need to spend money on humanitarian aid and not weapons test, wake the hell up. the United States spent 2.7 TRILLION in foreign Aid in 2009. We should'nt alleviate the worlds problems, but we sure try with money..stop complaining what an independent company does to protect you.

  • too bad it's so expensive

  • How about giving a contract to Boeing to produce water filters so countries like Arica and India have fresh water, for once in their lives?

  • its just an impact firecrcker with matchpowder BP in -.-'
