Nice radio. I'm not a huge fan of President bases mainly due to the looks, however I am a huge fan of the President Jackson. That 2995 is tough to beat unless you're getting a Yaesu. Don't have much experience with them, but they're sick looking and apparently quite mean.

Actually that antenna matcher is made to fool your radio into thinking the swr is lower, nothing to do with distant people..

did you know on the uniden washington's and the madison's if you push in the instant ch9 button half way you get channel 44.just thought i would let you know. this was a common flaw uniden didn't know about.

That President Madison with the Cobra mic should really talk. I remember it well. What antenna are you using? I got a kick out of the Johnson. That was my first radio back in '76 back when everybody got a CB license. Can't remember what I had for breakfast yesterday bit I remember my call sign. hahaha.

WOW!! Great radio! These are old, but if you can get them realigned properly they kick ass! The Uniden stuff was some of the best ever! VERY COOL!!

Hello Mike ,I have a brand new "Boxed" Madison in my large collection of CB Radios (about 60 now!).The matcher you have got is for tuning your antenna down when your SWR is high,(it fools your radio that it sees a 50 OHM load.)
