OMG! I was trying, without success, to describe this noise, that happened with the last two BSOD's. My laptop is just one month past the one year warranty. I haven't ever experienced BSOD's, on my past three laptops and one desktop. I have to go back to a Packard Bell (lol) with Win98 on it for a bluescreen, but not even that had this kind of noise. BTW, one of the OP said someone had to be listening to music. I wasn't. I was in a photo editing program. Did you ever find out about the noise?

I bet you opened an application with sound on. Then you got the BSOD. with sound. Cuz' i got that too.

i got a total crap my pc gave once, it just freezed then suddenly starten making in an incredibly high pitched noise for like 2 seconds and then turned off. the noise was like ARGAGFGARGAAGRIRIIAUIFUAJGIHUA

my bsod makes noises too :/ not a long beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep, but it sounds like a stucked gramophone
