Group 4: Centre for Sustainability Research in Addington Highlands
Background: In September 2011, students in the University of Ottawa's 4th Year Environmental Studies Field Course (ENV4910) traveled to Addington Highlands and surrounding townships in Eastern Ontario. Organized into four research teams, the students were tasked with developing proposals for initiatives that could foster sustainable development in the area. Each research team prepared a short video outlining the key elements of their proposal. Through YouTube, the students and I would like to share these ideas openly with residents of the study area, and with anyone else who is interested in enhancing rural sustainability.
In this video, Research group 4 outlines its ideas for building a permanent research centre dedicated to the study and promotion of rural sustainable development.
