From the early 80's here is a great interview with John Belushi, featuring a special episode of "celebrity" Jeopardy. John ran across Steve's show when it was still the "Steve Dahl Breakfast Club," which was a play on the Don McNeil Breakfast Club. (Steve & Garry also broadcast the show from the Tip Top Tap at the Allerton Hotel like the original Don McNeil show.) John was fascinated by the comedy and live radio aspect of it and then showed up at the show and he and Steve became friends, as well as John becoming somewhat of a regular on the show.

  • Wish Howard would have gotten to interview John.

  • @ThorAbraxas Yeah, that would have been cool, but alas it was not to be. And personally, I prefer Steve's more free-form format (especially in this era) to Howard's. Now that's just personal preference but both are legendary and hilarious broadcasters, Steve just happened to be a little before Howard (hence the "original shockjock" moniker).

Thanks for the comment and for listening!

  • Thank you for uploading this. Great! Thanks..

  • Just finshed a movie CALLED Neighbors....This must be LATE 1981 Or EARLY 82....Thanks for the upload. Great interview.

I don't have an exact date for this, I wish I did, but you're right. "Neighbors" is a hilarious yet underrated Belushi movie. People always mention Animal House and The Blues Brothers obviously, but they seem to forget about great movies like "Neighbors" and "1941." "Neighbors" was interesting in that John played the straight, uptight neighbor (as mentioned), kind of a flip from his usual outrageous character.

Thanks for listening, I have another Belushi clip coming up soon.
