SCENE Continuing...
Joe: [stuttering] D-demi I-i...[transfixed by her lips]
Demi: [pulls away quickly] Oh Joe..I'm so sorry..I did that absentmindedly.
Joe: [clears his throat and nods] Right. OK, right. Fine...I-i..
-Then came the most awkward silence ever, followed by the lurching of the Ferris wheel descending down to the solid ground-
Joe: [looking away from Demi]
Demi: [doing the same]
Joe: [gets out of the compartment and helps Demi out]
Meaghan: Joe! [hugs him]
Joe: Hey..I missed you! [kisses her]
Demi: [sulks into the shadows]
Joe: [looks around] Where's the squirt?
-with Nick and Selena-
Nick: [throws another dart at a balloon, and hits it, again] Yes..
Selena: [laughs] Great job Nick!
Nick: [looks at her smiling] Thanks.
Selena: [blushes]
Kevin: [walks over] Hey, did you get your teddy bear prize yet?
Nick: Not yet. [hits one more balloon and recieves a huge stuffed bear as his prize] [smiles] Here Selena.
Selena: No, no Nick. It's yours. Take it.
Nick: That's exactly what I was gonna say to you.
Joe, Demi, Meaghan, and Nicole: [walk over]
Kevin: [thinks: Nick can be a smooth talker when he wants to]
Selena: [takes it and hugs Nick]
Nick: [turns bright, shining, crimson]
Selena: [pulls away] [laughs] [kisses him]
Nick: [feels big ticklish butterflies zip around his stomach]
Nicole: Aww!
Selena: [pulls away]
Nick: Are you thirsty?
Selena: Um...yeah. Can I have two sodas, one for me and one for Nicole?
Nick: [staring at her and in a dreamy voice..] Of course..[rushes off]
Demi: [laughs]
Meaghan: Joe we need to talk.
Joe: [walks her over to a private area] Yeah babe?
Meaghan: Joe...I saw Demi trying to kiss you.
Joe: No. She wasn't doing that.
Meaghan: I'm not blind, Joe. I'm well aware of what she was doing.
Joe: We were how many feet in the air. You can't hear that far...
Meaghan: Good bye Joe. We're still friends but I can't take the risk of Demi hitting on you. [leaves]
Joe: [grabs her hand] Meaghan that's not fair!
Meaghan: We're not playing football Joe. Bye. [kisses his cheek]
Joe: Do you have a ride?
Meaghan: Yeah. Bye..see ya tomorrow.
Joe: Fine..[walks back over]
Demi: Where's Meaghan?
Joe: We broke up.
Demi: WHAT?!
Kevin: Why?
Joe: [whispers to Demi] She saw you...almost kissing me...
Kevin: YOU TWO KISSED?!
Joe: [smacks him] I hate your sensitive ears.
Kevin: Hehe. [frowns] Makes sense though.
Joe: [shrugs] We didn't love each other..[brushes his hand against Demi's accidentally]
Demi; [laughs]
Nicole; [walks over] What happened?
Joe: I'm single!
-The next day at Teen Drawn-
Demi: [walks over to the store]
Joe: AH!
Demi: God Joe it's just a black eye!
Joe: Demi what happened?
Demi: I fell, OK? [not lying but not telling the whole truth]
Joe: [eyes her] Right...
Demi: So...that date.
JOE'S POV
"Hm...maybe tomorrow? I'll pick you up."
"Sound good" she said. She walked around the store helping people. You know the worst thing? A lotta things were going on with her eye...it was bruised: Purple and even black and gray in places. It was also red, the inside part, which was kinda disgusting. It was actually throbbing, blood rushes to her eyes to heal it. She was also kinda pale. Anyway, back to the worst thing. Deep inside, her eyes had a sense of fear.
