yea definatly with the voice... but the proficient slide guitar work is that of charley patton, or robert johnson.. in my opinion... i realy like it... :)
I think you will find he is his own guitarist. Willard was his first name. His brother for any who d not know was Jasse Babyface Thomas, who made some wonderfull tracks after WW2, + a couple before war. These brothers bought a couple of mail order giutars (Stellas) & learned themselves. Brilliant G
Parts of this remind me of Monday Morning Blues as recorded by Mississppi John Hurt ("take a pick & shovel, go down in the mine"). But there was so much borrowing going on, cos that's the way blues & folk music is. One thing those guys had was a sure sense of rhythm & the ability to do strange things with it. Robert Johnson was the master, but you get a sense of it even with lesser-known names. Thanks for posting!
