Ayn Rand has been dead for nearly 30 years, making her quite the "get."

Seeing what consequences her philosophy has had for the world, will she recant?

  • I love how people who tend to disagree with Ayn Rand are also the same people who'd rather piss around all day and get handouts from the government.

  • @dubya68 I love how that's not true.

  • @ThePunkPatriot Ok then, why should I give my money to a government who proceeds to give it to the poor? That's called stealing.

  • @dubya68 Because poor people spending money keeps you employed.

  • @dubya68 and no, it's not stealing.

  • @ThePunkPatriot I love how pretty much every "fact" (yes, I know some of it is satire, I'm not retarded) is not true.

  • @dubya68 such as?

  • @Run4TheShadows If you're really poor, then yes. But if you're relatively poor, that doesn't mean you are downtrodden. I know poor people who have better lives then I do, and I'm not talking about materialistically, they have outright better lives then I do. They aren't on welfare either.

  • @ThePunkPatriot So how has welfare helped the economy? Most of the people on welfare and/or unemployment would be working if they had no other choice. That is what Rand was talking about when she was trashing the poor. She was talking about lazy people not people who are poor out of circumstance or that get screwed over by other people or the government.

  • The ending is hilarious.

  • Alisa Zinov'yevna Rosenbaum has some similar views on mankind to the alleged forgery made before her birth called The Protocols of the Elders of Zion… I wonder if there is other evidence in her writings to back up this theory…

  • Thanks to modern technology, anyone can be Forrest Gump. You should have showed her your but-tock. That would have been good for a laugh or two.

  • This is hilarious, but Ayn Rand believed fundamentally that a person should be left to there own devices without government interference unless they are directly committing fraud or harm. That people shouldn't be held back. She also believed if governments would back-off that society would flourish and less people would be poor. As for Chile, Russia, and all those other countries you talked about, the evil in those places were the direct result of government control of society

  • That was brilliant.

  • @dubya68

"...People who are poor out of circumstance or that get screwed over by other people or the government."

That pretty much covers everyone who is poor. If you don't have a lot of money, it's the result of being screwed over somewhere down the line.

  • @dubya68 You don't seem to understand our economic system in the slightest. People often don't get off of welfare because once they get a job, the money they have to pay for housing, etc goes through the roof. You can thank the banks for that.

  • @ThePunkPatriot Since when has the CIA propped up governments based on Objectivism? Seriously, if the government is a fascist dictatorship then it's not based on Ayn Rand's ideas. The closest I can think of is Hong Kong.
