it beat the v8 supercar lap record without trying
-
Any motor sport fan would appreciate how unbelievable that looks and sounds flying around the mountain, but seriously I dont think anything is as good as a Holden V8 supercar!!!
-
i was told that they weren't allowed to go to fast for safety reasons that's why it wasn't timed either
-
awesome, thanks for uploading this
-
f1 at bathurst , thumbs up for every year , thumbs down for never again .
-
@ksearles85 however have yet since learned while i was out looking for chocolate that Lowndes used to race Open wheelers previously, so he's know spring chicken to this type of car.
-
@ksearles85 lol mate, no I haven't seen an F1 car at full pace ever, I live in a cave obviously, only venture out to search for chocolate, oil, and candy and whatever shit I can find
-
Get a full field of these up there and listen to the noise
-
Man that can flaming well scream!!
-
@ksearles85 he said on the day that he could have knocked 8 seconds off with a bit more time....
-
@frogtubenz Because it's not wide enough, not flat enough, and F1 cars don't work terribly well on corners that fall away, please understand you didn't just see an F1 car going flat out around Bathurst .. you saw one being driven around at the slowest reasonable pace to maintain tyre & brake temps, that's all. There's no way in hell a V8 Supercar can lap a track of the length of Bathurst within 20 seconds of an F1 car, considering MotoGP bikes are almost 30 seconds a lap slower than F1.
-
@biglawso lol mate, have you ever seen an F1 car at full pace? Button was probably at 20% throttle for most of those laps, Bathurst isn't exactly the most smooth and flat surface for driving a car with the sort of ride height and aero of an F1 car, if he were going flat he'd be bottoming out for most of the lap, ideal conditions and full pelt he'd probably have gone another 10-20 seconds quicker.
-
@SneffySneff That's not very nice. The hotted up taxis have more in common with the F1 racer than they do with street cars; carbon fiber shell over an alloy frame, one seat and an engine that is illegal on the street, not to mention the fact that all four tires are also illegal on roads. Good old class A racers are long gone.
-
Finally a real V8 supercar at Bathurst, not a hotted up taxi.
-
I hear f1 aren't happy with Melbourne and might take the race off Australia. I say have it at Bathurst. Why not?
-
Wasnt going that hard my arse! Maybe he's taking it easier on the corners than he would at an F1 track and rightly so - he's hammering it on the straights though. I mean, he's not going to risk a multimillion dollar vehicle at a frakking show event now, is he.
-
@biglawso knowing the track is more important than knowing the car in this case
-
haha...to hear that sound at that track...HEAVEN!!!
"All the best angles". Lol i especially liked that Pan shot of the tree line. Epic

@mostrandomguyaround u can sort of see it through the trees as it comes up thru the cutting and past Reid Park.... If they did more than 6 hot laps, would have got more vid...
