1) She said "this is for my people in Africa". That comment doesn't make sense because this song is about slavery in the US. The people in Africa have nothing to do with it.
2) Most AFRICANs in the US were never slaves. They are mostly recent immigrants who come from Nigeria, Ghana etc. I think you mean "African Americans" or "Black Americans".
Whether or not its about Africans or African Americans I think this song is just plain ignorant. Sad really...
