My African Grey started feather chewing a few days ago. He's only 10 months old. So, I've tried adding a lot of shreddable type toys to his cage. It seems to be helping... We'll see.

Do I hear Popeye in the background?

@Trahira517 yes, you do. FuzzyButt has his own tv and DVD player and watches a number of Looney Toons as well as his entire collection of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which are his favorites. These he watches at least 4 times daily. He wakes to symphonic rock music in the morning, particularly David Garret.

@hulitoons Wow, that's crazy. He shares the same favorite cartoons as I do. Is this to help his stay focused on something to stop the picking? I'm just curious. I've recently met my first Grey and I instantly wanted to take it home with me. I've always just loved animals, so needless to say these guys have me totally dumbfounded. I want one, but it will be a good while before I can get one.

@Trahira517 African Grays are comparable to a 3 year old human child which is why they should ONLY be in a cage for very short periods to keep them safe when traveling etc. Many of these birds will die early if they are kept in a cage all the time unless the cage is as big as a bedroom. FuzzyButt needs the same learning stimulations as any growing child or teen. He has improved but Grays are very like nail biters so he needs distractions!
