Outlining Text in GIMP

In this tutorial I show you how to Outline your Text.

1.) Write your text out
2.) Place the text were you want it (with the move tool)
3.) Create a new Layer
4.) Move the new Layer underneath the Text Layer
5.) Change the colour to what you want your border colour
6.) Choose your Text Layer
7.) Click Layer then Transparency then Alpha to Selection
8.) Click the New Layer underneath your Text Layer
9.) Click Edit then Stroke Selection
10.) Choose your Stroke Line (How big border will be)
11.) Click Stroke
12.) Chose your Text layer
13.) Then click Layer then Merge Down
14.) Then click Select then None
15.) Then Save As
