This design performance was recorded at an eco-design pop-up store in Barcelona. It shows the making off Corkutis, a skin made from cork grains and natural latex, to protect objects.
Corkutis is a cork skin that can be applied to a number of objects in order to protect them from heat, cracks, etc. It is a flexible, mouldable, waterproof and heat-insulating skin that can be applied to various objects that need protection: glass containers, bbq tongs, coffee cups, iPhones?, cars?,...
Made from cork grains and natural latex, Corkutis is completely renewable and biodegradable.
Corkutis results from an urge to use cork grains, an underused by-product from the cork industry, and create 3D shapes without using its biodegradability.
It is work in process by Petz Scholtus (Pöko Design).
