  • @jawbraeka Oh.. haha, I need to revise cognitive psychology it seems. :D

  • @Ovidiu91 it's not a replacement theory but more of a 2ndary buffer to allow specific information to enter into STM from the consciously chosen information from the episodic buffer... but that's just my understanding. :P

  • @jawbraeka you just blew my mind :D

I think I get what you mean, yeah.. since this theory is basically a replacement for the Short-Term Memory theroy, memories here should not stay more than a few seconds..

But I still prefer STM :P a lot more.

  • @Ovidiu91 i think i may have been tired when i wrote that as i was meaning that it is a buffer as there can only be so much information that can be contained it at one time (speed of thought)

  • @jawbraeka I don't think that can be plausible. Basically we can refer to the episodic buffer as stored memory for this particular theory, so it cannot be like a 'filter' or a pre-central executive salve for the visuo-spatial sketch pad and phonilogical loop.

Anyway, working memory model is not my favourite theory! :D

  • That was short, simple and clearly explained. Thank you

  • my ideal of the episodic buffer is that it sits in between the central executive and the phonological loop as well as the visuo-spatial sketchpad like a filter to allow the spatial memory not to be overloaded (so to speak.)

  • you forgot about hitch
