Lovely time lapse, we did a project in the market and was tempted to do a time lapse like i had for cave hill but this is way better than anything I could have pulled off.

Awesome work! Reminds me of some of the scenes from "Baraka" Bravo my friend! I wish I had the time and resources to experiment with some time lapse stuff.

Hey, Thanks. I'm a huge fan of Baraka. As for time & resources, this was done with a cheap tripod, home-made box for panning the camera, and a borrowed Nikon D200. It took about 3 hours to film (I wish I had more time & resources, too!)

cool! d200 at 1 frame per sec? what's your pan method? Looks like a fluid head...

Pretty close. It was a shutter exposure of 1", with an interval (frame rate) of between 3 and 4 secs per frame. The "fluid head" is a home made gizmo, with a geared motor that rotates the camera very slowly (about 1 revolution per 2 hours, although it's variable)

It's got a nice start/stop ramp... I've only been able to achieve that with computer control.

Yeah, I have to do it manually, with a bit of guesswork, but it seems to work - most of the time! Maybe soon I'll invest in the motorised telescope mount.
