Anti-Violence Campaign GLBT Television Public Service Announcements, 1992
In the early 1990s, a handful of independent film producers made innovative PSAs in response to growing hate crimes against gay men, following the start of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
The first spot "Chained" is a masterfully crafted visual message. Little else is known, or remembered, about the group that produced these spots. More information is welcomed from those involved. Alternative Media Information Center.
Originally aired on Green And Yellow TV, 1993-1995; and GLBT-TV, 2002-2004.
From Producer Brad Theissen's collection of historic public health educational materials.
See Profile for additional TV background, and other HIV/AIDS and GLBT civil rights TV PSAs from 1985- 2004.
