Being dead would be much sadder, Ray!

Michigan state Senator Ray Basham just said that sending one of our soldiers a cigar is sadder than if that soldier died in Iraq.

Yes. He's a Democrat.

I think it's funny that when people choose to smoke cigars, which can kill them, you can sluff it off saying it's their choice and yet you won't let someone choose to have an abortion, commit assisted suicide or have a gay marriage. Way to stick your foot in your ass.

A couple of things: 1) "Sadder" is a word - go look it up in a dictionary. 2) Ray Basham served in the Air Force from 1962-1966, so I don't think the profound disrespect is warranted. Perhaps you'd like to explain how cigar smoke will positively impact the cardiovascular health of our soldiers in theater. (By the way - the cigars were counterfeit Cubans seized from a drug dealer; Mike Bouchard isn't so generous as to pony up his own money to donate 75 boxes of cigars).

I get the pleasure of having a anual meeting with Ray Basham as a part of my PAC. After meeting 5 State reps and 4 other Senators prior to meeting  Basham, He really stood out from the rest. Instead of being receptive Heflew offthe Handle with his ANTI SMOKING. Very unsollicited and arrogant too. After qustioning him on how he would like to write the law compared to other states he appeared to be ignorant and could only reply Well Ban Smoking !! No he is a JERK About this Issue! vote him out

Funny thing about liberals. They will be the first to stand for protecting a tree, but the last to stand for protecting the life of an unborn baby in the womb. The first to stand against the war, the last to give an encouraging word to the troops that what they are doing is not in vain. The first to stand up and say we need to do something about the state of the country, the last to stand for the basic moral principals that would bring it about. The whole democrate party has become one big joke.
