This is an in-car video of my run at the Virginia City Hill Climb on June 19, 2011. I'm driving a 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. This was my second run on Sunday the 19th, which turned out to be my fastest climb, a 3:22.273, good enough for 3rd place. The two faster cars this year were a 750+ hp tuned ZR1, and a '74 911 weighing 2300 pounds, with a big honkin' turbo and 550+ hp. The forced-induction cars have a distinct advantage in the climb, as it begins at roughly 5000 feet elevation, and ends at 6200 feet. I'm more than happy with being fastest of the normally aspirated cars! Can't wait for next year...
Thanks for the compliments! It was a blast. Looking forward to next year...
