An hour later Joe, Kevin, Nick, Liz, Mandy, and Kristy were lying out on the beach tanning. "This is boring," Kristy complained, sitting up and looking at the others.
"Well do you wanna go on a walk or something?" Nick asked, sitting up too.
"Sure...but I don't wanna go alone..." She gave Nick puppy dog eyes.
"Okay. I'll go." Nick stood up and he and Kristy headed down the shore.
They were both quiet at first and then Kristy asked quietly, "Did you really mean it when you said you loved me?"
Nick didn't say anything for a moment and then looked away saying, "Yeah."
"Oh..." Kristy was quiet and then said, "Well this is awkward."
Nick laughed, "Yeah just a bit." The he stopped walking and grabbed Kristy's hands asking in a hurried voice, "Kristy I know that I've only known you for a few days but I was wondering if you wanted to be my girlfriend."
Kristy blinked at him, shocked. Then she smiled and said, "Of course Nick." Nick let out a sigh of relief. Kristy laughed and wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him.
"Uhh...is this a bad time?" Joe took a step back. "I was gonna walk with you but...maybe I'll just go eat a cookie..."
Kristy giggled as Joe ran back to the others and yelled, "I'm scarred for life!" He held his hands over his eyes but then tripped over Kevin.
"Ahh Joe! What the heck?" Kevin jumped up as Joe landed on top of him.
"Come on, let's go back before Joe hurts himself again." Kristy grabbed Nick's hands and they jogged back.
When Nick and Kristy got back they heard Joe saying, "Shhh! Don't say anything."
"What ya shushing about?" Kristy asked.
"Nothing...just...you know...shushin people..." Joe twiddled his thumbs. "Okay I can't take this anymore!" He screamed and pounced on Nick. "My little brother is growing up!" He gave him a noogie.
"Joe!" Nick yelled, pulling away.
"Hey...I just realized that I haven't seen any parents all day!" Mandy said worried.
"I'll call," Joe pulled out his phone.
"Hi mommy! Where are you? Ohh. No I didn't get that text....Yeah. Okay. Alrighty. Bye! Love you too." Joe hung up. "They're at a wine tasting place."
"Oh." Kevin said.
Liz laughed, "You call your mom mommy? That's hilarious!" Kristy giggled.
Joe crossed his arms angrily, "So?"
When the parents got back that night they found their children all huddled together in the basement watching 'Poltergeist'. "I'm never going near another tree again," Mandy gasped as a tree attempted to eat a boy.
Kevin laughed.
Mandy yelled, "Hey don't laugh at me!" and punched Kevin in the arm.
"Wow. You're weak." Kevin looked back at the movie.
"Ohh you're going down buddy!" Mandy screamed and attacked Kevin. They wrestled on the ground until Kevin had Mandy pinned. "Okay, okay you win." Mandy tried to get up.
"Not so fast! Since I win I get a prize." Kevin smiled.
"Well what do you want?"
"Hmm..." Kevin thought, "I want...a kiss."
Okay. Mandy kissed Kevin quickly on the cheek. When he was about to complain she said, Hey, it was a kiss!
"Shh!" Kristy said, "Something scary is gonna happen!"
"How do you know?" Nick asked.
"Cause the music is getting scari- AHH!" She screamed as a doll attempted to strangle the little boy. Kristy jumped and buried her face in Nick's chest, "Tell me when it's over."
Nick laughed but, he wrapped his arms around her anyway.
"Wait...I missed that! What happened?" Joe shoved a huge handful of popcorn into his mouth.
"How did you miss that?" Liz asked.
"I was looking at this piece of popcorn cause it kinda looked like Janet Jackson!" Everyone turned and stared at him. "Why do people always do that?" He asked, shoving more popcorn in his mouth.
"It's okay Joe." Liz patted his back.
When the movie was over, Kristy sighed and said, "Well I'm going to bed...but I'm staying AWAY from my closet." She shuddered.
"I'm going too. I need my beauty sleep," Joe yawned.
"Yeah tell me about it." Nick snickered.
"Hey! It's hard to keep myself looking all nice and pretty." Joe put a huge smile on his face.
"Um...pretty boy...you got some popcorn in there." Liz laughed.
"Well that's embarrassing..." Joe snapped his mouth shut.
