I have to say that, after reading "Death in Yellowstone", I was too sickened by the idea of instant death in those mud pools...to enjoy the place much more. Even the bison gore people to death in the stomach too often.
Hi Matt, just to say you are not alone! there is at least one other HUGE geyser fan here in the UK....ME!! Went in 94 and spent 2 GLORIOUS weeks geyser-gazing,met members of gosa, who helped me a lot, got to see some of the rarer eruptions---Fan and mortar (twice!!!) beehive etc. without doubt, the best 2 weeks ever spent on holiday!!
What would have made it perfect would have been to see Giant erupt!!....it became active again just after I left!!!
