whats the name of the chip you glued on the board...

  • @Jazzykirat It's a PIC Microcontroller manufactured by Microchip (not a 555 timer). Sorry, not going to give the exact model :)

  • kind of attempted this without a solder using super glue and electric tape , probably wont work as most of them will fall out :( do you think it could still work im half way done atm

  • @wipp3dcream It could work for a little while, but eventually the tape might come off. Also, I don't know what the super glue will do to the board and chip. Super glue works by melting plastic - which both the chip and PCB are made from. If one of the wires comes off and shorts something out without you knowing, it could damage the chip/board. I would recommend stopping, going to RadioShack, and picking up a starter's kit for about $20 with both the soldering iron and solder.

  • Is this PIC Microcontroller completely stock without any programming done to it?

  • @Beardymanlol A PIC Microcontroller is sort of like a small computer. If a computer doesn't have an OS, it doesn't have much to do. It's the same with a microcontroller, so a stock PIC Microcontroller that is not programmed will not do anything. Yes, this microcontroller is programmed.

  • @TheMorphinator thanks already ordered a solder :P thanks for the feedback :)

  • @N4THANF0ST3R No, it is a PIC Microcontroller.

  • what chip does this mod use is it a 555 chip?

  • @antonio3697 You can use it with or without a pushbutton. When you hook up a pushbutton, you wire it in so that the connection is grounded when you press the button. The sync button does the same thing when the wire is connected to the middle pin, and you push the button. Since wired controllers don't have a sync button, you will need a pushbutton for a wired controller.
