This week saw the release of a new app for the iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone which aimed to help the user experience the life, art and music of Jimi Hendrix.

The best description I can give of this app is that it is a bit like a software version of a coffee table book. It is packed with information, pictures, videos and clips of Jimi Hendrix's songs. There's a video gallery and a nice discography too.

But what do I think? Well you'll have to watch the video to find out!

Check out the app at:

  • I'd love to see a Led Zep app and (rather predictably) a Beatles app! Can just see an interactive Sgt. Peppers album artwork gizmo in there :P would be great!

  • @INDIEREMIX Yes, I think just an interactive Sgt Peppers app would be superb. (Macca and Ringo, you reading this?)

  • You keep finding things for me :)

  • i'd love to see a Supertramp, King Crimson or Frank Zappa app.

  • and awesome eh? getting this! i love my hendrix but i don't really know much beyond the famous albums and couple of live things so this sounds great for me. these app reviews are great man great work :) I would also be very keen on apps for Yes, Crimson and Genesis. Genesis seems pretty likely as we all know how much their label loves to draw money from prog fans' pockets heheh.
