Photos from Alberta Canada trip late June/early July 2006. Presented as a montage using panning images as a slide-show with music. Music is "The Wings" by Gustavo Santaolalla from the Brokeback Mountain soundtrack; he won an Academy Award in 2006 for this film score. (congrats Gustavo!)

Several places seen here were filming locations for Brokeback Mountain.

  • wow that´s really beautiful. I´m planning a trip to visit Brokeback Mountain locations this summer. Does anyone know if it´s possible to go by bus to the different locations or if it´s neccesary to rent a car? (which I have a feeling it is?)

  • Hi Monika - Yes, you will want to rent a car to make the most of visiting the film's locations as they are scattered about southern Alberta, both in small towns and somewhat remote mountain locales. If having a car is not possible, then make your way to Canmore and stay there -- the mountains around there will give you the singularly best overall taste of Brokeback, imo.

  • One other thing about Alberta is that you get the most spectacular light

  • Thanks for a nice video.

  • I want to say its in the movie In to the Wild, but I'm not sure. If you find out, send a reply so that I know. Thanks

  • song is so sad :(

  • Yeah I love the smog and crime infested ratpiles you referred to as well. In fact my favorite part is paying PST on every fing thing that people can sell me.

  • Alberta sucks. It's and isolated shit hole. All people do there is get drunk at crappy bars and fucking go looking for bears. You can't beat eastern timezone. New York and Toronto forever!

  • awesome!
