This is one of my favorite songs form my childhood. Didn't even know I had it in my collection. Enjoy!

Didn't the Four Lads do "If You Will Marry Me"?

Yep. I have posted that song, though it is titled The Bus Stop Song since it was used in the 1956 Marilyn Monroe movie 'Bus Stop'.

Indeed, Donna. All those "Fours" were brilliant songsters - and the lyrics were very clever as well! I was only a child but remember them well. There was also then many a great satirical recording where they, and other pop groups of the era were wonderfully spoofed. Sadly you don't get this sort of sophisticated humor these days!

Amazing, isn't it Kris...All the songs in the prim and proper Fifties, where even the word "Damn" was not allowed to air were all actually about SEX! (albeit subtlety). . . In another hit of this era "Love and Marriage" (which was all about the hypocritical taboo of sex before marriage) the chorus in the end bit answers Sinatra with "...you can't have none" (without the other!)

Gosh this takes me back...Spring,1955 and a trip to Washington, DC with my parents and brother - all white classical buildings and cherry blossoms. "Ike" was the president I believe and another pop hit at the time was a Sinatra number called "Love and Marriage". Classic. I recall that it was rather hot and we were not permitted to enter cafes where "Negro" people were frequenting! I am 65 years old presently.
