great job sir, may i recommend the book: LOOKING FOR AMERICA ON THE NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE? I have it and its a good read. tells all about the building of the pike and the evolution of same

@aswchris There are several french-language signs on Interstate 87, starting north of Exit 26 until you get to the Canadian border.

It's so weird to see all these signs-these are, in the main, areas that are VERY familiar to me-I drive them nearly every day

A French-language sign in New York state? That's odd, never saw that before.
NY DOT also experimented with metric signs in the Syracuse area back then.
