I really do not see how this SC defense struggled to defend this option attack when they had an elite linebacker like Willie McGinest anchoring the defense. I guess it must have been bad coaching because most of these players are not wrapping up the ball carrier and they are taking bad angles on a man who has started to run with the ball. Ol Lou out coached every USC coach that ever stepped foot on the field against him from 1985-1996 almost a decade of dominance....and i respect Ol Lou forever

@SCBayern the best thing about this comment is that you made it right before your team got stripped of an entire season of "wins", had a heisman taken away from a player, 20 scholarships taken away, and a 2 year ban from bowl games for running a dirty program. congratulations on that sparkling future you were referring to. USC in the 2000's = Miami Hurricanes in the 1980's. just dirty as a country road.

Oh my God please tell me they called a holding penalty on the USC tackle (2:50) during the last pass when ND got that interception. The ND defensive end would have gotten the sack had it not been for the choke hold the offensive lineman put on him. If that was not called that was the worst no call I have ever seen.

@SCBayern Every program has a future!!! Your comment is based on negative bias rather than fact. Truthfully, it has been over 20 years since ND was a consistent title contender and have not had a Heisman winner since about 84 or 85 when Tim Brown won.  However, just like USC was horrible in the 80's and early 90's and turned it around, it is possible for ND or any other school. Your comment is intellectually idiotic.

@qukarlz People don't argue the relevence of teams nobody cares about. When was the last time you went to a video of lets say Grambling State, Ball State, etc and made negative comments to their fans. Most likely, you haven't because you don't care about those schools. You say you don't hate ND which is great. However, you coming on this vid to post a negative comment shows you do have an opinion about them you want voiced. Even though negative, your opinion is evidence of relevence.

@qukarlz Why is ND relevant? They have not been a consistent top 10 team in over 20 years, yet they are on national TV every Saturday. Name me one other program in the country that gets that kind of exposure when they aren't good. I will save you the time. NOBODY!!! They are relevant because it isn't about winning or losing, although winning would be preferable. To this day, ND is the most loved and hated and watched football program in the country.

Coach Kelly needs to watch this video. You cannot have national pretensions without a dominating rushing offense. Gimmick offenses may win in the pathetic Big East... but not against top ten competition.
