Carver teen killed in car crash

A Carver teenager died after his car collided with a dump truck on Route 58 in South Carver, the second fatal crash involving a South Shore teen in less than 16 hours.
Shane Littman, 17, was pronounced dead at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth shortly after the Carver accident, which occurred at Route 58 and Rochester Road at about 2:40 p.m. Wednesday. Catherine Crocker, 16, of Weymouth, died Wednesday morning, hours after she was a passenger in a car that slammed into a bridge on George Washington Boulevard at the Hingham-Hull border.
Witnesses in Carver told police that Littman, driving a 1992 Honda Civic, failed to yield to a 10-wheel dump truck going south on Route 58, Carver police Sgt. Michael Miksch said. Littman's car was pinned between the truck and a guardrail. ``''``'' Carver Fire Department personnel moved the car away from the guardrail so emergency medical workers could get to Littman, Miksch said.
The driver of the truck, Richard Lupo, 26, of West Wareham, was not injured. The crash is being investigated by Carver police, State Police and the Plymouth County sheriff's office.

Explain the reason. A truck is coming down to road and you want to turn onto the road. You obviously think he has the breaks of a Ferrari, so you go ahed and cut right in front of him. Well, your judgment was wrong, and as a result he kills you. Who is at fault? You are! You failed to realize it takes up to 100 yards, or 300 feet to stop a fully loaded truck. Truckers fault? He did nothing wrong. He could not stop his truck, which is well known to police. Invest in a education, and you'll learn.

To answer an earlier post, Plymouth County Sheriff's Department does evidence documentation service throughout the county. It is called BCI : Bureau of Criminal Investigation. This service adds impartiality to an investigation, and reduces costs to individual towns (ie. every town doesn't need forensics specialists). @Thisisveryreal the sad truth about teenage drivers is that we send them to schools who are in the business to make money and get an operators license for the student. most parents spend little time driving or teaching driving skills. i see it 5 days a week. sometimes i have to face the parents. i honestly hate my job some days.
