For as long as I knew him, my grandfather refused to speak about his experiences during World War II. Only towards the end of his life did he agree to be interviewed about how he survived the Nazi Holocaust. I'm able to understand his Yiddish-inflected English, but I highly doubt that my children will, so I subtitled the text.
Thank you for sharing a little of your grandfather with us. In another 15-25 years the rest of those who lived through the Holocaust will be gone. The testimonies and interviews, along with the museums are the link to this terrible time.
Thank you very much for uploadingthis interview. Although I am an African American, I feel so remorseful about this topic. May the Lord serve them as they served him...
