Canary Room

This is a spare room that was converted into a Canary room. There are four cages, each 7 ½'. I combined three 2 ½' flight cages and attached them with cable ties to make one long cage that enables the canaries to fly a bit. At one time I had 3 cages combined for a 22 ½' cage that housed all the canaries. They kept fighting and one female was killed. A hard lesson to learn. I immediately separated them into what they are in now.

I'm thinking of trading all but my Red Factor for some finches that can be housed together. I'm not sure yet... I would have to make absolutely sure that they would go to an experienced owner with the same type of set up they are used to now or better.

The lighting is a 4’ florescent fixture that I purchased from Lowe’s… Home Depot has them as well. They come with two light fixtures. They were around $25.00 ea. I purchased the lights from Lowe’s as well. The lights cost around $10.00 for 2. They are the Day Light type.

@timelove1000 I purcashed the green fake plants from a craft store here in Orlando called Micheals. They are vines that I attached to the outside back of the cage. Any craft store should have them and most likely the big box stores in their craft dept.

I purchased most of the perches from PetSmart and some from a Bird Show here in Orlando that comes around every 4 months or so. PetSmart sells them for about $4.00 - 7.00 U.S. currency... they are cheaper at the Bird Shows.
