@addusernamehere Your history only has the earliest and latest brands and a lot of missing chronology of name and ownership changes in between. More importantly, W-O didn't make something "related" to Jeeps--it MADE Jeeps. It's Jeep personified, the real deal, the originals (if you credit Ford and don't count Bantam). There can't be anything more Jeep-like than those made by W-O and, later, by Willys Motors (when bought by Kaiser Industries in 1953) and then the Kaiser Jeep Corp. after 1962.
@addusernamehere Willys was bought by Kaiser who was bought by AMC who was bought by Chrysler who merged wih Diamler, but you are right about it being like a jeep. During WWII Willys couldn't make enough vehicles for the military so Ford made a Willys based "Jeep" they are related in that sence.
My dad & I are working on a 63 Willys pickup right now, so i have respect for the condition of your rig.
PS: Willys aren't related to Fords at all. The original company that made all Willys vehicles was called Willys-Overland Motors & was bought out by Diamler Chrysler (same people who make Jeep brand). It's more closely related to a Jeep i guess than anything else.
Just a thought...."Ford Willys".... Its just a short title for a Ford engine in a Willys truck. Duh. Dont need all the know-it-all BS.
