  • There is nothing strange about temple rituals; they are there to make people feel they are special and it strengthens the organization. There is nothing sinister going on the ceremony any longer, not siince the church hierarchy put a stop to the grotesque oat of throad-slicing hand sign. But consider this: A non-Mormon father cannot escort her Mormon daughter down the aisle or attend the marriage ceremony. Such cruel nonsense is t otally unnecssary. You need to speak up. Don't be afraid.

  • svarteper2 - "You need to speak up. Don't be afraid."

*You must understand - we believe in revelation and we believe that God knows what is good for us better than we think what is good. Democracy, voting, etc. are great things - they are inspired by the Almighty, but when it comes to our salvation we chose to follow our King - the Lord Jesus Christ. We won't tell Him how His Kingdom should be run but we try to receive His instruction with humility.

  • Looks like your video has attracted a lot of distraction and commotion!

  • DefendingMormonism - I don't quite get your comment. Can you explain?

    Thanks!

  • What? No piwo? Scroo you, psia krew!

  • I once asked a Mormon missionary "Why don't you tell your contacts that you believe Jesus and Satan are brothers; that there are many Gods, and you hope one day to be a God when you are given your own planet and as many wives as you desire ?" His answer? "If we did, no one would join us". A very honest reply!

  • Does this sound Christian to you?

  • There is no temple worship today. But Mormons don't understand this. The real church is the church of the Book of Acts. Small churches in homes where everyone participates in prayer, communion, prophecy, etc.

  • The Jewish Temple rituals were sacred, symbolical, and future-predictive (pointing to Jesus Christ.). I believe that they are written in the books of Exodus through Deuteronomy, in detail. I don't understand why these are less sacred then the LDS rituals as the LDS rituals are not discussed? Could you help me with that?

  • THELDSLIFE

Well, when someone says Catholicism is a cult because of "eating bread and having it symbolize the body of God" you have to explain the concept of transubstantiation. That the bread and wine actually literally becomes the body blood soul and divinity of Jesus Christ himself.

That Jesus is literally present in the Eucharist.

  • @TheStrangeRanger - there are similarities but not related.

One is a fraternity and the the other is a church.

One does not provide a "plan of salvation" for its members and the other

teaches that it is only in and through Christ that mankind may be saved; through obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel: of which include:

Faith in Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism, and then the Laying on of Hands for the Gift of the Holy Ghost; currently available in the LDS church. Not as a Mason.

  • @lajmh - I respect what you say.

There are some who would consider orthodox Christianity and other sects "cult" like as well. When we go to Mass or partake of the Lord's sacrament, eating of those emblems, to some, would also seem strange and ritualistic. Who is to say that one couldn't view the Catholic church as an odd cult for eating bread and having it symbolize the body of God, etc... Jews wearing strange clothing. Cult could mean just about ANYTHING strange or hard to understand.

  • @ 3:21 - it's funny how the same scripture used to denounce anything but scripture found currently in the Bible is the VERY same one we use to suggest that "Any and All scripture as God deems FIT for mankind to have and use is inspired of by God. Even if the House of Israel were to write of their travails in the northern countries, write things while living upon the Isles of the Sea or however possible, then shouldn't we accept any and all writings so long as we pray and ask God over it?
