@biegel88 Not only did he have a lot of children, but a lot of them died at birth and at an early age. So not only imagine the passion, but the human emotions and tragedies from which he dealt with and clearly uses as inspiration.

musicologists today, such as Gustav Leonhardt agree that the Art of Fugue was probably intended to be played on a keyboard instrument. The fact that it is playable on a keyboard at all is evidence for some that this was Bach's intended instrument, as it is not possible to play most of his ensemble pieces on a keyboard instrument

Well done, Benjamin. I idolize Bach's music--the human element, the harmonic, melodic and rhythmic invention!I tell my students (and audiences on occasion) 'Can you imagine, he had nearly 20 children!? Now that's a passionate fellow! Play his music as such.'
