  • If your using XP you should be able to manually remove any desktop icon by going into control panel - Display - Desktop - Customize Desktop - Clean Desktop Now - then tick the box for the icon you want removed.

  • I have the same problem only I have phone explorer icon

  • Start:

    Run

    regedit

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\

Go down down the NameSpace list and located the value which display Network Magic Folder, Delete this folder and it will be gone.

  • Try this:

Go into the Pure Networks Network Magic dialogue box (searched for Network Magic in the search box under the Start menu). Then, under Tools-Options, check the "Hide Network Magic Folders Desktop Icon".

  • @rurounizanza Awesome tip, didn't think to look for that. I guess that's why there are smarter people than me in this world.

  • I have that same problem too, I'm going to try rurounizanza's "theory" though :D

  • I had the same problem. Goto control panel, add/remove programs and uninstall network magic. Good to go.

  • Click on the "Tools" menu and choose "Options..." menu to remove the "My Shared Folders" icon from the desktop.
