Because they are playing since the 70's. Carty was born in the 60's.

no disrespect to kevin burke, of course! he is a superb musician. and tommy peoples as well.
on the subject of underexposed talent, i understand that michael coleman had a brother who many thought was a better fiddler, but was shy and never left the farm.

Well...I didn't know who he was until a week ago. He's amazing! Beautiful music indeed...though...I'm still partial to Burke
