This is a video guide showing how to mod a Mayflash Arcade stick with Sanwa parts cheap and effectively.

The Mayflash Arcade stick itself was purchased at http://www.playasia.com
All the SANWA Parts were purchased from http://www.etokki.com

I have to give a huge shout out to K1TSCHY ( http://www.youtube.com/user/K1TSCHY ). A lot of this information I got from his awesome videos, so definitely go give his page a look.

And last but not least http://www.shoryuken.com was a great help with information a lot of really helpful people over there so go give them a visit too.

  • whats the total cost of all the materials including solding iron and solder and the wires and stuff

  • @darksantos1 Well lets see it was a while ago but ill try list everything out. Keep in mind this is all in Australian Dollars:

$20 to $30 on tools (including wires, soldering iron, solder and all that)

around $100 on all the parts however I bought parts for 2 sticks not just 1 and that $100 includes the $25 shipping it cost to come from Korea to Australia.

The arcade sticks themselves were $30 each but the shipping from Japan to Australia was like $50 for 2.

  • @darksantos1

In the end it all works out to be around $115 per stick, witch is less than half the price a DECENT quality stick like a TE would cost me, in Australia they retail for almost $300. Hell even a normal 360 or PS3 Game Pad retail for almost $100 in Australia... shit is whack!

  • which one is the ground on the buttons? Does it matter which one of the things on the buttons that you connect the ground to?

  • @pspgosucks the ground can be on either side of the buttons as long as you put it on the SAME side for every single button

  • Monter Hunter Tri in the background?

  • @tjprodigy

lol yep you have a sharp ear, my room mate had just gotten it that night and was playing while I did this

  • @Vareous what are the little things that go on the wires called to make the daisy chain? u said it in the video, but i couldnt understand you, sorry.

  • @Vareous so what if im a casual fighter, i like to only buy one for fun i dont know if i have the heart for modding

  • can you add graphics to the mayflash fighting stick case like the top because all black seem blah.

  • @mrben809

    Eddie Murphy Raw @ 5:50

  • Monster Hunter Tri In the background :)

  • What kind of quick disconnects do I need to get? Hell while I'm here what else am I going to need to buy for this mod? I started thinking I could just get a joytron revolution, some sanwa buttons and a stick and throw em together. Now I know why the Madcatz TE's are $200

  • @Shadowii2 it looks like it doesn't matter which side, as long as you use the same side for every single button
