@Onku82 -- 1973 is OK, but I still love 1983.

How I wish this were available on disc! Lovely Susannah (RIP) was too pretty for Jane but did a wonderful job anyway...and GSC was the ONLY Rochester I'll ever believe in...truly the saturnine, slightly scary dude that Charlotte created, and one who can believably ask "Do you find me handsome?" and get a credible "no" for an answer...all the while being the Sexiest Tormented Man Alive. Last scene of this version tears me to pieces. And BRAVO to John Williams' love theme!

wish more could appreciate this.. but just know that you have brought back a flood of wonderful sights and sounds from a time long ago .. but never forgotten. I could never find anything on this that I saw on tv when 11 or 12 yrs old .. 1971ish. You have done good.

Williams 'score' from 2.46: earlier in the film Rochester (Scott) had asked Jane to play something on the piano- "what turns out to be the 'love theme' of the film is heard again at this point to show the awakening love between the two characters" (BBC Documentary on John William's film music writing career, 1980 - shown to coincide with the release of 'Star Wars - Chapter 4').

Check out the 1973 version starring Sascha Cusack and Michael Jayston. It is the most faithful rendition!

You can get it on DVD for a reasonable cost I think.

She is Susannah York, a fine actor in this part, even if the age is wrong.
Thanks a lot!!!
If you can upload more...^^

Ah! This is the best version of the movie, even if they both are a little old for their respective roles. Also the best scene, thanks for posting!
