@IkeIV1 FO2 has no in-between terrain, just random encounters.

I love fallout 2 but I cannot rid my mind of the shit-hole that was san francisco. I don't think anyone liked that city, the stupid references were a complete kill joy.
-
Pretty neat how the Fallout 1 & 2 soundtracks are in New Vegas.
At least in the files they are.
-
@IkeIV1 I guess, but I enjoyed New Vegas a lot more than 2... but that was quite a disappointment to not be able to go to Navarro and the Oil Rig. They are mentioned... oh Lord, they're mentioned a LOT.
-
I remember the Virgin Interactive Fallout 2 is not finished
An example: when you're on the world map, look there is an extra space in cities and there are many more things that are to end
And I also remember the Van Buren Fallout 3 project, the original, not the betsheda
Logically the most classic of the saga fallout will see what I mean by Van Buren

Oh, man, such ambience... Sad thing is New Vegas didn't get that thing right, dont get me wrong, I LOVE IT, but aside from Vegas there aren't many awesome places like the ones you could visit in Fallout 2...
Goodspring, Novac, Primm, Nellis, Red Rock, Bitter Spring, meh, not even close to Vault City, Redding, Vault 13, NCR, Modoc and New Reno, not even close...

@grimcatnip Well, that part is actually taken quite directly from Stephen Kings TV series "The Stand", although, dunno who the artist is on that.
-
Does anyone know of any artist that plays more music like the the little rift that plays at 58 seconds in. I've been hunting for ever cause I love that style. I found an artist but I lost his name and never got to grab his stuff.
-
Am I the only one who was kind of disappointed to not see any Wannamingos in New Vegas? Heaven knows there were plenty of mines to put them in. :(
-
@ThisEarth The OST wasn't. Funnily enough Tim Cain joined Obsidian recently, so that's even more of BI back together.
-
That's what I found interesting.
I've heard most of those tracks before but somehow Mark managed to take small snippets of the music and tweak them ever so slightly for it to go perfectly with a post-nuclear 1950's retro-futuristic post-apocalyptic world.
Fallout is full of pop-culture references.
Some of the creatures even look similar to creatures created by other artists.
Centaurs and Floaters? They look like they're from John Carpenters "The Thing".
Especially Centaurs.
-
I don't mind. I was just surprised to find out that the entirety of music in f2, which I think is damn near perfect at conveying the game's atmosphere, wasn't actually written for fallout from the get go.
-
I looked at the thread and one of the quotes from Mark Morgan that was posted mentions that he actually aided in the programming on the soundtrack for "The Stand."
So he did re-use it. But he likely aided in its creation to begin with.
Plagiarism is a dumb concept anyway.
Most artists whether they realize (or admit) it or not are borrowing ideas from other artists in one way or another.
"Copy from one, it's plagiarism; copy from two, it's research."

@JordoF6 well uhhh... YO MAMA!!!
-
@evilkiller108 nice to know fealings mutal.If you want to kill evil like your name start with fallout 3 :D
-
@JordoF6 i effing hate you

This music is where Fallout is at, not even New Vegas can touch this, and it was made by rougly the same guys.
-
"The Stand" 1994 Series. I just watched an episode and music right in the beginning IS the redding music. It's exactly the same bloody tune, except the show came out years before F2 and Mark Morgan was nowhere near the production of the show.
Same with a bunch of other songs in F1 and 2 - all are almost exact copies of various unrelated ambient tracks.
NMA has a thread on this. Turns out most, if not all, of the iconic Fallout sound wasnt written from scratch but "borrowed" from various artists.
-
@Nahzlow fallout 3 is an abomination.
-
not to judge or anything, but Fallout 3 and New Vegas do go well with the original storyline. I loved Fallout 1 and 2. But I never got the true post apocolyptic experience from it. I love all the Fallout games (except BoS for the xbox I heard it was shitty).
-
Gotta agree, the music really helped set the mood

@MrDarkEzh STFU JEARK
-
i heard this song in fallout new vegas
-
@ComradeGraty If you want to make enemies.......Try to change something.
-
@TheresNoFreeUsername You're very welcome :P
The song is actually called "Gold Slouch." It's the 16th track on Mark Morgan's Fallout 1/2 Soundtrack album titled "Vault Archives" It was released for free online on December 10, 2010 and is still available for free download.
