i own a craviotto maple with steel and wood hoops, a tempus carbon fiber and i recently picked up up this little baby ! none of the video's on youtube capture the full dynamic range of this drum !! it kicks ass in any situation . jazz-very soft , funk, rock, folk, big band, hip hop .....etc.. this drum truly stands with the best of them ! they're almost the greatest secret in the drum world ! i play traditional grip and slant my drum . this baby is is like the touch of a beautiful woman !

Hi.
I tightened the batter head real tight, loosened off the throw a tad after tightening that to the point where the snare didn't bite, loosened the reso a bit too.
Batter is Evans EC2 snare and reso is Evans Hazy 300
And thanks for your nice comment matey :o)

Again, I'm not so sure which would be best, why not find out if any of the drummers of your favourite bands are Mapex Endorsees.
And I think you'd be surprised by the Adler snare, it packs a hefty punch.

I have no idea as I'm not a fan of that type of metal. I suppose the snare could handle it :o)
