@gracom1977 Could be a problem with no ice?

Her bridge at the start had terrible posture, it wasnt straight and was very messy.
-
somehow the jumps seem more clumsy here than in figure skating.

i think that it is much harder to do most of the tricks on wheels than blades being both a figure skater and inline figure skater. you dont have as much momentum from the ice, but i dont think they are supposed to be identical, similar but not identical. inline figure skating is more power, while figure skating is more grace.

God,how boring that was.

why not just ice skate?

Interesting. I was just watching figure skating vids when I came ucross this. I didn't know there were inline skating programs and competitions. Thanks for sharing. I've read some comments here and some people sound offended that this looks like figure skating, but does it really matter? Being inspired by each others disciplines isn't that bad, skating for example blends ballet moves and takes them to a new level. If people are enjoying themselves, let them. To each their own. :-)

oh, and might I add that I've never seen a roller skater properly tuck their legs for jumps? All of them that I've seen before wrap their legs. I don't understand why, if an ice figure skater can tuck their feet in a crossed position closely together, risking cutting themselves with the blade (it has happened many times before) then what is so scary about tucking your feet with only wheels attached?

@champ07usa Why did you take camel spins, all six jumps, and three-turns from figure skating, then? Couldn't you have made up your own moves, not copied what figure skaters do? It doesn't matter if it's technically different, it looks like ice skating when you don't look at the rink and wheels. Yes, spins are done differently on wheels than a blade. But whoever invented artistic roller skating looked at a figure skater doing a sit spin and decided to copy that move with roller skates on.

can I ask you something please, I want to buy inline skates for the summer for not having enought time without ice skating. oh and for practise more! Is this a good idea? Will it help for the ice or it will be worst? please tell me!

We are not trying to copy figure skating. If you actually tried to inline skate you would realize that it is extremely different technically from ice skating. Comparing ice to roller is like comparing football to golf. They are completely different.

I disagree i believe they each have equally different amounts of grace.. I believe rollerskating can be just as graceful if performed well. And i also believe figure skating can be less graceful.. It just really depends on how well the skaters perform.. thats what makes it more or less not the fact that its rollerskating or figureskating.. this was beautiful to watch even more so then some of the figure skaters i have watched b4 and I dont believe either is better ..but thats just my opinion. :)
