I found this band by accident after watching some Tokyo Police Club, and i'm so hooked now, it's unbelievable! There's something so haunting and magical about this song. I absolutely adore it. When it gets to 1:55, i'm like Whoaa! Oh i like this band. I like them alot.
True, but this guy isn't looking to download a t-shirt off of Limewire. Artists get a larger cut from album sales than they do from free downloads. Support is support if you ask me. If you really want to support and artist, make a direct deposit. :)

Not saying downloading music illegally is good, just saying it's going to be an impossible situation to stop considering the amount of people who do it.
Most independent artists don't earn from touring, actually go broke doing it, unless they can sell merch. And yes, they are making more from merch than music sales these days, but there are still a lot of industry pros that use sales statistics as a measure of success. It could make the difference in how much attention they receive.
