"To impress God by keeping His Commandments..." I've never heard anything such stupid like that statement.By keeping 10 Commandments I show my respect to God's will,my obedience and I do what is good for me and for the others.

It is not for me to impress on any of you to keep God's law. It is for God alone to convince you through His Word. Sin is transgression of the law (1 John 3:4), And we are all guilty of death by the law (Rom 5:18) But Thanks be to God that Jesus Christ made it possible for us to be free of the bondage of sin (Rom 6:14,12)
On That Note. May God keep you!
"For if Jesus had given them rest, then would He not afterward have spoken of another day." Hebrews 4:8 (Please Read Heb 4:4-9)

God has never forced anyone to do anything. We forget to read Romans 14:1 when we quote Romans 14. But when we are with Jesus Christ, don't we want to walk like Christ? John 1:1 and John 14:15 bring into light that Jesus wrote the ten commandments. If we love God should we turn away from the commandments? If Jesus said that He is Lord of the Sabbath, is that not a declaration of the 4th commandment? I don't try and follow God's law because it will save me. I follow God's law out of love.

@rkg62976 does this scripture teach gentiles to keep the sabbath or does it simply say that there were gentiles and jews who wanted Paul to preach at the synagouge on the next sabbath? but in contrast dont Colossians 2:16, Romans 14:5-6 and Galatians 4:10 far more clearly relate to a discussion of the Sabbath?

Since you, a Jew by birth, have discarded the Jewish laws and are living like a Gentile, why are you trying to make these Gentiles obey the Jewish laws you abandoned? And yet we Jewish Christians know that we become right with God, not by doing what the law commands, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be accepted by God because of our faith in Christ--and not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be saved by obeying the law ! GAL 2

Not to mention Hebrews 4:4-10, which speaks of a "limited" day, and "not another day", and a day that "God rested from his works", and that we "also" will "rest [sabbatismos]" from our works as "God did from his". It's very simple language. Also, these "works" are not bad works. Otherwise, did God rest from "bad" works? LOL! Sabbath is a day to rest from our every day works that occupy our full dedication and attention. God is our example. It is not a day to be building houses. =]

Jim says, "Nine of the ten commandments are repeated somewhere in the N.T."(7:54) What saith the Scripture:
Paul preaches in Antioch beginning at Acts.13:16-41. Notice who were there, "when the Jews were gone...the GENTILES besought that these thing might be preached to them the NEXT SABBATH." v.42. Luke, a Gentile, writing about Gentiles keeping the Sabbath?. v.44 is truly the kicker, though. Nearly the whole city comes, on the Sabbath, to hear the Word of God preached, AGAIN!

Jim says: "The Sabbath was a sign of the Mosaic covenant" (1:21). This is erroneous. The Sabbath is, and remains, a sign, symbol, seal, mark, token, and monument to GOD as CREATOR.
"..as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make...from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD." (Is.66:22-23)
Indeed, the sabbath will always remain as a monument to God as Creator. Those who keep it not, are breaking it!

The 10 Commandments:
Table 1: Love to God
Table 2: Love to Man
On these 2 commandments hang ALL the Law and the prophets!
Therefore, the Sabbath is part of the Commandment of Love to God. It is a requirement for salvation.

Revelation 22:14 "Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city."
This verse clearly makes the commandments a requirement for salvation. It links "doing the commandments" with "having a right to he tree of life and entering the gates of the city". It's so clear... just so so clear.
