I never played PS1, I wasn't a PC gamer until a few years back. I wish I had. but all of that is beside the point. The amount of coordination and organization you're outfit displayed was absolutely stunning! Graphics be dammed, this was one of the most amazing things that I have seen in a long time. Then I had to explain to him how people actually DID these kinds of massive coordinated assaults on a regular basis.

This is what im hoping for most out of PS2 over anything else. If we can bring back this feeling.... T_T so epic

PS2 is still very new. Alot of people remember PS1 at least a year after its launch, they either werent around or forgot all the zerging chaos and massive balance issues it had to begin. with. Give the dev's time to smooth it out and for major outfits to start forming alliances like before and we'll have our epic times back!

Thanks for the memories on PS1! and yes it was better than PS2 but the 6 month roadmap has some promising features that will give the old planetside a run for the money.

Planetside 2 patch 1/31 is going to implement defense xp (finally) and will be making the defense bonus per action more apparent (showing the actual number rather than percentage).  I enjoy the hell out of planetside 2, but agree it's not like for like.

The metagame in PS1 was something that kept people playing for HOURS at a time. In PS2 there's no sense of accomplishment in capturing bases, XP caps are weak, and you can't ever force people off a continent for a period of time. PS1 was simply a better game in terms of an MMOFPS.
