Because there was a clause in the contract stating that the "owners" of Project Runway would receive 10% commission off him for life. As well as a few other things, he wanted to be a free designer and not owned by corporate clothing companies

Okay to say he won PR this shit looks so sears put on........man what happened? It appears to be the same suff he did for his 07 collection and the models are hidious at best. Cmon Jay grow up and stop pretenting to not give a fuck and make some beautiful clothes that say something about your talent. I so over this attitude of the fashion industry is so...blah...blah.......blah, make clothes that the public wants.
