simonis cloth has very small grooves in the fabric. im pretty sure those grooves will be crooked the way he's installing it here. it wont really matter much but to a professional player minute details are distracting.

@azuewrath Are you a table mechanic? Can you teach us how to stretch the cloth into the side pockets so you don't see the "V" cuts and without distorting the weave of the Simonis? Oh you can't? Because you can only write about how you think it should be but don't really know what you are talking about. First off it doesn't have grooves in the fabric but you can see the weave. Second, I guess I'm lucky that these tables were installed at a senior center and not at the US Open.

yeah dude staples always rip the cloth over time. glue might be messy but it does a better job

@Insane82chevy Here in California it gets hot and we have seen glue "let go" and have to be redone over time. We have never had staples come loose or tear the cloth. Our installers do use glue in the pocket openings but have found staples work better in this environment.

Holy freaking Staples Batman now I'm not going to bash your work but I think you should watch the video from the Diamond Billiard Factory , You should use less staples and start using glue , over all those table look ok . but check that video you may learn a think or two .

@Bustamantefan It's easy to look at a video and claim to know what is best. Diamond tables dont have a wood liner on the slate so you must glue it like most coin-op tables. That makes it much easier to form the cloth around the pockets etc. because the slate is only 1" thick. The Olhausen tables we were installing have 1" slate plus 3/4" of wood which makes it much harder to stretch the cloth into the pocket openings and the cloth has to be stretched tighter. Staples work better for this.

Staples do not rip the clothe over time.

Bad staples and cheap cloth, maybe.

Of course they won't idiot. You need that slack to fit the cloth into the side pocket. You know "Jack" and are a pinhead.

@pooltables2u I noticed that you secured the cloth on the corner ends of the table and then you went straight on installing the pocket. What I like about simonis cloth is when you cut it, it doesn't tear all the way even when you stretch it. You need to make another cut if you want to shape it. Keep that in mind it helps.

@pooltables2u Weaves yes thats the word I was looking for. Im from the philippines I dont really have good english. I install billiards tables in Cebu and nearby provinces. I've been doing it for quite some time now. My name is Kaloy by the way. They're still calling me to install their tables so maybe I am a mechanic. Good for you your clients are seniors. Im guessing they dont mind how you install their tables do they? how I wish I could have that luxury here. And your weaves are still crooked

@pooltables2u i see. i live in texas and glue hasnt caused me any problems however the staples that held my cloth tight did ripped the cloth. of course my pool table is in my living room and not in my garage so i dont see as heat being an issue. but whatever floats your boat. i dont recover pool tables professionally so i wouldnt know what stands the test of time. but glue has made me a believer
