  • What other years had a TR model?

  • @zeroXXman Good question. All the research I could find on the Subaru Impreza WRX TR was only for 2006 and 2007. So dont quote me on this but it looks like just 2006 and 2007 so far.

  • Hey man, im looking for a wrx locally, and i found a normal wrx (Loaded) for 18k with 41k miles on it. But the also have a wrx TR for 17k with 18k miles. Both are '07 models....I want the TR for the price and miles, but is it really that much gutted from the original wrx model?

  • @JLDG4

It all dopends on you and what you want to do with the car. All subarus have a full wiring harness, so for one thing of that is plugs for your fog lights and switch are in positioin and ready. You dont get no Brembo brake calipers like the STI, but you get some damn good Subaru 4 piston infront 2 piston inback. What pacifics would you like to know or see about the TR (Tuner Ready).

  • @JLDG4

From the outside, people will notice that the TR is missing the WRX aero kit (there is no type of aero to be found on the TR), fog lights, spoiler and body-colored mirrors. On the inside, the TR is missing the Momo steering wheel, the Recaro-made seats and has a cheap-looking stereo system and HVAC controls. Subaru's reasoning for this makes sense though. The company figures that most tuners will be ripping these pieces out anyway, so it just won't equip them on the car.

  • @JLDG4

Of course, if these parts aren't on the car, the buyer won't be charged for them, either. It's supposed to be a winning situation for the consumer.

  • It might be because theres no cattalytic converter. The subaru flat 4 cylinder boxer engine will always have that drum roll sound. Im going to be putting on a 3.5 inch turbo back system with no cat by APS soon. But I have a feeling im going to be modifying the system by putting a high flow cattalytic converter on, and tapering back down to a 3 inch to use the Borla cat back system. Hey but stay tuned for that clip. (And I have more clips on the Borla cat back and with the Borla header)

  • I may be buying a 2005 Impreza WRX Wagon either tomorrow or the day after. At the moment, it's loud. Very loud. I'd like to keep the good tone it has, but just drop the volume. It's insane.

  • No its not much louder at all. I've only had one complaint. My sister said It is a bet loud when I am going down a steep incline in a lower gear while in the back seat. But I've thought of spraying a coat of under coating underneath the trunk, right on top of the muffler. I don't thank it would add much to the weight at all, and that stuff says its good for deafening out the sound.

  • good job man! it makes exhaust buying for guys who don't want loud exhaust much easier. its a little hard to tell but how much louder is it? it doesn't seem by much.
