  • yea my bad let me rephrase the question how is it on clean songs and with distortion

  • @slashrays The video shows how it sounds with clean settings, think that covers it. Fralins handle gain pretty well. Amazing tone with transparent drives like OCD and TS, really good with fuzzes.

  • Can these pickups cover any type of style

  • @slashrays I don't think this kind of "magic pickup" even exists, dude... it's vintage single coil kinda tone. Some styles will need humbucker tone, higher output, etc - you can't have it on a strat with single coils. Just like you'll never get this tone playin' an Ibanez with DiMarzios. You gotta know what you want to get what you need.

  • Thx. for the response bro. I have a strat with pretty weak pickups and I'm wondering if the Fralins will allow me to pick without having to "hammer" the strings. When I mentioned "sustain", I was wondering if the signal decays quickly......definitely not looking for infinite sustain. What do you think?

  • @AskAGuitarPro Hi man! Surely the fralins set doesn't have this kind of weak response. The signal won't decay quickly... it's a full and warm kind of tone, surely you won't have to spank your guitar!

  • I just don't understand how 6 people could dislike this. Great tone & he plays like a man. Probably some stupid shredders playing an Ibanez through a line 6. I've got the Blues Specials in my 70's ash strat into a Louis Electric KR-12 & they sound great. They just seem to pick up the little nuances like hybrid picking better than the mass produced pickups out there. You sound like you're playing with 6L6's... I've got EL-34's so my tone is a little darker than yours.

  • sounds killer!

  • @AskAGuitarPro Thank you, man!!! IMHO, the Fralins have waaay better response to picking nuances (like hybrid picking, etc) than every single pickup I've tested. About sustain: the Fralins are really good, nothing to complain - but it goes for that "vintage" kind of tone, with low/medium output. They're not "infinite sustain" kind of pickups, you know. Comparing with other low output pickups, I'll say they're pretty good.

  • Great tone. Did you notice an increase in sustain or dynamics (picking sensitivity) with the Fralin's?

  • @nickjeremyable Thank you, dude!
