  • This is like a late-night infomercial for the theatre complete with cheesy testimonials.

  • But, without an audience, and without an understanding of why that audience needs to hear the story...what is the value of the story?

    Also, in terms of the economics, I'm not sure you're painting a realistic portrait of the revenue potential vs production cost of the play.

  • I disagree with the comments of your playwrights.

    My first loyalty is NOT to the audience, it is to the story. Without a good story that is true to the characters, there is not drama, no comedy, no action and no audience.

    I'm also more than a little concerned that nobody mentioned money. With 500 seats sold at $20.00 per ticket, times even three performances, I see $30,000.00 laying on a table. If the playwright isn't getting a big chunk of that cash then something is very wrong!
