Okatch's artistry reclaimed benga, rejuvinated her from her then relative dormancy and, in this period, his sales and popularity outstripped the ever in lingala (rhumba-soukous) in Luoland. Hoardes of benga fans would flock to Junction Inn, and soon Heka Heka was filling up stadiums across the land. Agricultural shows became Okatch Biggy shows.

Scheduled secretly for Homa Bay {Tourist Hotel] one time, word leaked and the organisers of the would-be intimate gig were soon confronted by a surging crowd in excess of 70 thousand! It became a free gig, Biggy going home penniless! but 70 thousand benga fans created wind currents strong enough spin the great AWACS, as they sang along in the chorus of this song:

Biggy tinde owara --Sianda madongo aweyo, Okatch; Wang'gi-Dongo aweyo...:
ALEEEMO! Biggy owara.... GIKOOORO Joroho koro...!

So, my dear jahera-benga, have a feat in nostalgia and sing along. I have tried to paste the words within bearable accuracy further on in the upload.

  • @Jarawila wot a lyrics fantastico, 'awarora aseweyo chode alemo' Jah bless xo

  • @sejerian Yes, by public acclaim it was immidiately agreed Biggy had hit a new artery of delivery in Luo popular song in this section. But it would take critics much longer to come to conclude the obvious! Maybe lines like 'sianda madongo aweyo' do not mouth well for academics! Performing the song for the first time live in Ndori, Biggy was forced by the charged crowd to nwoyo nyadinwoya this chorus, until he demanded money to buy a new voice! thhoo yawa, nyiewnauru dwol manyien! abuth!
