Lots of skacore bands are more punkish than core, though.)
I mean, the 'classic' ska is really close to reggae and, well... it seems so distant.
Blah, I don't really believe any band can be aaaaall that related to a specific genre. Unless you created a subgenre for each band that has ever existed ='D
And one more thing: WHAT IS REALLY IMPORTANT HERE IS THAT THEY MAKE GREAT SONGS. the rest is the rest

Ever heard of skacore? If they were to be put into a genre, guess there wouldn't be a better choice. It's sorta "punk ska" (and actually, the 'ska' everyone knows nowadays, lol). ok, maybe it should have a hardcore drum and brass to be a "real" skacore band, as this Thunder's sound-a-like drum, as well as the missing of the brass, is kinda minimalist, just like punk rock itself. that if you consider that our well-known ska comes from elements of the original ska mixed up with hardcore

Its certainly not traditional ska nor two tone but it could be third wave. Except I like this and can't listen to third wave probably because most of its American. You really couldn't have The Selecter or Madness in Japanese.
